Power Wheelbarrow

Hi,

I have converted an old power wheelchair to a power wheelbarrow. It has 2 chunky 24v motors, one on each wheel and I have added a 24v actuator and a scissor action to do rise and tip.
I want to add speed control to each motor to steer forward and back- braking would be good too. A joystick would be ideal for input but better still would be radio control. I do have a transmitter.
Any advice as to what I would need? Something “plug and play” would be good- I can learn how to do things with my Arduino when I have this project out and working!
Cheers,
Andrew.

Hi Andrew,

The easier solution would be to use a R/C system in conjunction with a Sabertooth dual motor controller.
They are made to take R/C signals directly and do feature “Skid Steer” mixing which is what you need from a wheelchair configuration.

At the moment, the only thing you need to know is what kind of power output is needed for your motors.
