Power Regulator

Hello,

I am trying to locate a power regulator to run my robot’s Beagleboard-XM computer off a 12 V battery.

I need to go from a 12V DC battery -> 5V 2.5A computer

On robotshop, there is a 25W Adjustable Switching Regulator:

It will has variable voltage from 3V-13V, 3A. Will this be of use? Or will it fry my computer board?

Looks good for your application. The breakout board may also help with connections.
