Power Question

Is there a place to tap servo power for the DFRobot IO Shield from the board? Or is a separate pack required?

Thanks,

Jeff

I presently have RB-Dfr-71. My question was can I hook the external power in to the main battery line, or if I needed to use a separate battery pack to take advantage of the feature. Thank you for your prompt response

Hi All,

Here is a link to the schematic for the IO expansion shield: Schematic

Also, you could look on the manufacturer’s site wiki for more information on the IO Expansion shield.

Hi jfleischer,

Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. Could you elaborate a bit more as to what you want and specifically which I/O shield you are considering? RB-Dfr-31 includes separate power for the pins (which can be connected to servos) and is selectable via a jumper. If you don’t opt to use it, the sensors / servos connected to these pins will draw power from the 5V line, which cannot provide much current.

Hope this helps,

Good question. We’ll get the schematic from the manufacturer to know what powers what.

Sincerely,
