Potentiometer Not Wired Properly

I wired a potentiometer to a PWM that controls the speed to a 12V motor.

For some reason when the potentiometer is turned on the motor first is on high and then decrease speed as you turn.

It is suppose to work the opposite way. When the potentiometer is turned, it should start off low speed then increase speed as you turn it up.

Can anyone help me figure out how to correct this?

Hi @Destineeone and welcome to our forum.

Which motor driver are you using?

Hi sir,
It sounds like the behavior you’re seeing is due to the way the PWM signal is being interpreted by the motor controller and the potentiometer’s output. Typically, when using a potentiometer to control a PWM signal, the voltage output from the potentiometer directly influences the duty cycle of the PWM, which in turn affects the motor speed.
