Potential Limitations or Drawbacks of Buying a Used NAO Business Edition?

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if there are any limitations or disadvantages if I buy a used NAO that was originally purchased as a Business Edition by the first owner?

If you can confirm that you’ll still have access to the software you need, and that all parts of the robot work well, then just a few additional considerations might include:

  • Battery (if it has been deeply discharged or not well taken care of)
  • If the robot has fallen or been abused and something is “ready to break” but has not yet broken

RobotShop has partnered directly with Aldebaran, but they still handle high level repairs. We have not had a situation where a robot which is outside of the warranty needs a complex repair, but it would need to be shipped to EU at the customer’s cost if so.
