Position not held on servos

Hello

i have got a SSC-32 i used to have a pololu 8 and it was working fine but with the SSC-32 its position is not being held on servos can some one help please?
i have analog and digital servos and the same thing happening

i am running it on a 5v 2amp from the mains

When you say not holding, do you mean the servo moves to the proper position but fails to hold that position? What kind load is the servo under? how many servos are you running?

Yes that is what i mean the servo is under no load as that are not connected to anything just the 1 servo

So it sounds like the servo is “hunting”.

Do you have any other servos you can try or is that one servo connected all you have? It should move to a position and hold that position. It sorta sounds like a possible bad servo. I had a servo that worked fine one day and then started behaving sporadically. It wouldn’t hold a position, instead it would move all over the place like it had a mind of it’s own. It turned out it was a servo that went bad.

It could be that the SSC32 is resetting, how are you powering your setup ?

i have 18 servos and it happening with all off them

i am using a PSP Power Supply what is 5v 2amps
i have it connect to the VL and the VL to VS1 jumper is connected

I got it to work

i have powered the servos with 5v and 2 amps and powering the VL by 4 AA and it is holding now

Try powering the electronics separately from the servos.

Disconnect the VL-VS1 jumper
Connect a fresh 9V battery to the VL terminals (beware of polarity)
Connect you 5V power supply to the VS1 terminals (beware of polarity)

and try it again

P.S
You beat me to the post.
Your SSC32 was resetting and that is why it was not holding the servo position
Glad you have it going

 Thank you everyone
