Pololu wheel rated load

Hi, I am building a robot which has to stand a certain loading condition where 100 kg of weight is going to be added on top of it. The robot will have six wheels, four of them being casters and the remaining two being motor-driven wheels. Some pololu wheels I have found are an interesting option for me but I can’t find any information about the amount of weight they can handle. Can someone help me?

Thanks.

Hello @Txibi,

Welcome to RobotShop community.

These wheels can’t survive such weight, unfortunately.

We also need to mention, these wheels are servo wheels, are you using servo motors for movement in your project?

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Hi @Ebram,

Thanks for your answer. I am not using servo motors but I am machining custom shafts for these wheels so the mounting is not an issue for me.

Do you know the rated load value for the wheels? I can maybe make some adjustments to my design, right now each wheel needs to stand roughly 20 Kg but I can spread the load to reduce the impact on each wheel.

Thank you for your time,

Hello @Txibi,

Thank you for your reply.

Well, it’s not provided by the manufacturer but we can ask them and get back to you.

We will get back to you with an answer once they reply.

Sincerely,

Hello @Txibi,

The manufacturer confirmed that these wheels are incapable of withholding such a high payload.

Since you are able to adjust the mounting hubs, we recommend using a different type of wheels such as Mecanum wheels.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,
