PNP

I have a RF receiver that has it’s contacts NC and I need NO. When I push a button on the transmitter one of the contacts open. So I was going to add a PNP in the circuit but can’t get it to work either, any suggestions?

No sure wht the question is.

PNP - I assume you are refering to a transistor.

NC labled on a board could mean “no connection” meaning there is no circuit going to this connection. Many IC chips have NC on pins not used.

I am not sure what you mean by “NO”.

Do you have a schematic? Pictures of this device?

Help me… Help you…

I believe he is referring to “Normally Open” and “Normally Closed”. What you need is an inverter. I’m assuming that your transceiver’s output is TTL (0 to 5V), in which case a standard cheap 74 series inverter should do the trick. By 74 series, I mean that the part number will be of the form “74HCXXXX”, where XXXX is some number. I think that an inverter is like 74HC4049. Don’t remember for sure. A quick google search for “hex inverter” would be a good place to start.
