Playing WAV files with a Parallax BOE controller board

I have just started an introductory robotics class at my local community college, and they use the Parallax Boe-Bot kit as the basis for the course. I am interested in being able to play WAV files with whatever accessory hardware may be necessary to accomplish this task, and the Robot Shop has some promising looking product offerings. I am interested in anyone else who may have done this and determining which product(s) may be the most appropriate to my needs. I love the concept of using SD memory modules, but for the moment do not require a high-end product such as the Parallax AP-16 board. So, I am wanting to know if the Wave Shield board would be appropriate, and what ever other accessories may be required to go with it. Thanks for any assistance/suggestions anyone may be able to supply.

Thanks, Carlos. Sounds good. Will place an order tomorrow.

We believe this module suits your needs very well, since it is small, inexpensive and breadboard-mountable: RB-Fds-14

It will allow you to play sounds, all you need is a small amplifier and a speaker: RB-Spa-684 & RB-Iro-971
