Hello all, I am building a relatively big drone (width and length ~ 75cm with 12in propellers) and I’m having problems tuning the PID. The reason why I am specifying that it is a large drone is that I think the extra momentum is causing problems with calibrating the PID.
This is a hunch and I have no meaningful reasoning behind it. When I set the P term to 1, it isn’t strong enough to go to equilibrium from a shift of 10 degrees (I have a seesaw rig for balancing). However, with a little push to equilibrium, it doesn’t stay there, rather it flops to the other side. When I increase the P term a bit (to 1.5), it swings from one side to another instead of steady oscillation.
