Voltage regulators
There are a number of PICAXE-28 boards. Which one do you have? What does it expect for power in?
EBay lists quite a few switching regulator boards for under $5US. Some are adjustable. There are also linear regulators even cheaper. Soldering a discrete regulator to an existing PICAXE board would probably require a schematic of the board.
thanks so much i thought you
thanks so much i thought you just stuck the little regulator somewhere on the project board haha im a total noob.Found one ebay that will do the trick cheers.
Search for 7805cv, they are
Search for 7805cv, they are really cheap linear regulators, like 1€/10. You can use them on a breadboard and are easy to use.
They take in input 6-15v and provide a nice steady 5v at 0.5A max. Then you can still use the unregulated voltage for the motor driver.
