I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before but I really like the idea and its probably the one thing that may switch me over to an arduino. I'm sure most of you know that the arduino has an open source database filled with tons of sample code, tutorials, and best of all... PICTURES. Now if we could get a handful of dedicated forum members (with decent cameras) I would like to organize and document how different parts interface with the picaxe microcontrollers. This, incorperated into the search bar with simple tags would alleviate a lot of the stress and strain put on forum members by beginners asking questions. I'm sure this would be beneficial to anyone here. What I would like to do is begin the process of setting up a list of common components, as well as a list of volunteers who would be willing to help me document each component.
What I would like to be on each component page:
Of course all tech specs would go first
The main component trying to be interfaced
The pins being used
ANY EXTRA COMPONENTS (i.e. resistors, diodes, caps, ect.) that would be required to interface the main component.
AN EXTREAMELY CLEAN, WELL-DOCUMENTED LAYOUT, showing the component interfaced with the pic axe via breadboard, once again making it exceedingly obvious as to which wire goes where.
a small explanation of the setup/ component (optional)
SAMPLE CODE that works with the exact circuit created on the breadboard
a small explanation of the sample code
COMPONENTS:
LED's
servos
l293d
LCD's
RX and TX
Potentiameters
speakers
bluetooth
just some to get us started
Please give me some feedback as to whether or not you think this is a good idea, I for one think its brilliant and will aid many users.
If you would like to help or add to the components list, please list components first, then if you would like to help or not.
