Phoenix setup

Help!!-I have made it to step 5 in the Phoenix configuration. In this step the robot should go to the neutral position when you click on “All=1500”. Mine just sits there. Does anybody know what I can do next?

Hi CefIII and welcome,

can’t tell from your description. What is your power setup going into the SSC-32? Do you have a logic battery and a servo battery? Are they both connected and properly, with a full charge and the swith(s) turned on? Do you have the VL/VS jumper installed? That was talked about in I believe step 9 of the assembly guide.

My guess is that it is a power issue. My assumption is that you have been able to make a proper serial connection to the the Board as the previous steps talked about downloading a new version of the firmware and the like, but you should also double check your serial cable is still plugged in and you can talk to the SSC-32 board.

Good Luck
Kurt

Hi cefIII,

Welcome on this forum and gratz with your phoenix!

I suppose you’re talking about this tutorial. Step 4 told you to check the firmware version. Did that work? Did you receive a version number when you typed “ver” followed by a enter?

if you did you probably have a VS power issue. The SSC uses 2 different power sources. One for the logic (VL) and one for the connected servos (VS). How are you powering the VS?

You can also try to move one servo by moving the slider on the left of the lynxterm program. If one servo moves without a problem you’re power source is to weak to support all 18 servos.

Make sure all batteries are fully charged!
