Pan & Tilt kit.

I just got my Lynxmotion pan and tilt kit, and have assempled it. I’m having some issues though. I’m using it with the Charmed Labs qwerk board. It uses a 0-255 number for the servo movements, 127 being center point. The pan servo center is off a few degree’s, and it’s movement range to the left is greater than the range to the right (or veus versa, I can’t remeber) But the range is different. What can be done to correct this? Looks like it’s using Hitec HS-422 servo’s.

Thanks, Connor

Did you center the servos before assembling the pan/tilt unit?

I hooked up the servo to my controller, set it to center position. and the put the Servo Horn back on as close to center as I could get it. (was off about a degree because the splines were not in the right spot). then checked the pan. I has more travel in 1 direction than the other.

Some servo assembly require that u turn the servo horn by 90 degrees.

That’s not it either… I’m thinking it might be something with the Qwek controller board not sending out the right position or something… I wish they had a trim function on it.

We have noticed this problem with our Qwerk board too, and reported it to the Qwerk folks (they’re just down the halll from my lab.) Not sure if it’s a hardware or software issue. I’ll inquire.
