I’m looking for a pan/tilt kit with the best precision/price ratio in the price range of 50$ to 70$. My understanding is that the Lynxmotion micro pan and tilt kit have 2000 steps for its 180 degree rotation. Is there any other kits with similar resolution, or better, with a better price? The expected weight of the payload would be 150g. Speed is not needed. No plan yet of what will control the unit.

@ptal Welcome to the RobotShop Community. The accuracy really depends on the servo used. Almost all RC servos can theoretically rotate 180 degrees in 2000 distinct pulses. Their ability to move in very small increments (for example from 1435 to 1434) is determined by many factors and includes the accuracy of the potentiometer inside, the gearing (and quality thereof), and the ability of the servo controller to send the full 2k pulse range. A big factor of course is the torque acting on it. There are not many small pan/tilt on the market, and in your price range, the Lynxmotion model does seem to be the best option.
