Pan and Tilt Kits for building Clock

Hi:

I want to build a clock using a circular bubble level (see links below for photo and video as an example) and I’m wondering if you have a pan and tilt stage, or some other kind of stage, that will allow me to do this. Using the bubble leveling device as the clock face I will tell time in minutes as the bubble moves radially outward from the center along a fixed radius for each hour. At the end of each hour the bubble would return to the center and track along the next hourly radius. The stage would need to be run by a raspberry or uno. Do you sell anything that would give fine enough control that would allow me to achieve this goal? Thank you.

Hi,

Depending on the amount of precision you need, a simple pan & tilt such as [RB-Lyn-316] may be enough. It uses two [RB-Hit-35], which have reasonable torque (3.5 kg-cm @ 6 V DC) and have a range of ~±90 degrees with ~2000 steps in it, for a total of ~180 degrees range of motion in 2000 steps, or ~0.09 degrees/step. That being said, that is a theoretical value and in real use cases the accuracy will be lower. You should most likely expect to get about a degree of accuracy with small RC servomotors such as this. We also have the cheaper RB-Lyn-74, which uses less powerful servos ([RB-Hit-27]).

You can find more direct drive pan & tilts here.

Sincerely,
