Hello there!
I am messing with bots for a bit, and now I thought of a robot positioning system using an optical mouse like sensor for positioning. it would be on the bottom of the bot and it would measure the distance on the floor rather than from the surroundings. I could call out a pair of coordinates and the robot would drive to that spot. all the optical sensors I see though for robots only measure distance from objects, not by the surface. does anyone know of any kind of sensor like this or is it time to take apart a gaming mouse. and also how accurate would this arrangement be?
