Operating Lynxmotion Robotic Arm AL5D with PS2 Controller

Our school uses the Lynxmotion Robotic Arm AL5D. We would like to purchase the PS2 Robot Controller in order to operate the robotic arm. I have several questions.

]In order for the PS2 controller (RC-01 v.3) to operate the robotic arm (AL5d) do we also need to purchase the Bot Boarduino (BBU-01) and the PS 2 Controller Cable kit (PS2D14-KT)?/:m]
]Will the Bot Boarduino operate on a 9V battery? Will the 9V battery also operate the Lynxmotion robotic arm or does the robotic arm still have to be plugged in? /:m]
]Is there any programming required of the Bot Boarduino in order for the PS2 controller to operate the robotic arm or is everything taken care of through the controller cable kit?/:m]

If you want to operate the arm without a computer, you would need the BotBoarduino and Lynxmotion PS2 Robot Controller kit:

If you can use a computer, you only need the FlowArm PLTW app and a USB PS2 controller:

Yes. It can alternatively be powered via USB (for the logic as opposed to the servos).

VL (logic voltage) is very different than VS (servo voltage). Servos operate at 4.8V to 6V whereas the microcontroller tends to need ~7-12V.

We offer sample code in order to use the BBduino with a wireless PS2 controller.
