Opera or Firefox?

Hi there, i’m confused about Opera or Firefox.

Opera is a stable browser which doesn’t crashes.
Firefox is a open source browser with lots of addons, but often crashes.

Help me to choose one…

Hey, I use opera. It crashes sometimes, but when it crashes I try explorer and it crashes too. So I guess itès not the brosers, but more my computer that has some problems.

Well, I haven’t tested firefox, but I can tell you what I like about opera.

It’s a simple program and since my computer is a couple years old, it’s fun to have one that my computer can use without lagging a lot (like explorer). You can have 15 pages all on one window, wich is really practicle. It goes really fast, and can keep up with my fastest demands (unlike explorer again).

Sometimes I have trouble going in secure places like hotmail. I think it’s just setttings that I will have to reconfigure.

Well, taht’s about it.

I use firefox,
I enjoy the addons and how flexible the browser is.
I’ve actually never had it crash unless it was my fault or an error
with a website.
In comparison to IE I love firefox. I’ve never got a chance to compare to opera. I guess I just realized I can use a calculator, three clocks, control my media player, change the theme, use source editors, and do so much inside of firefox with addons I never took another browser into consideration.

I love the look and feel of Google Chrome but I don’t think it’s script handling abilities are there just yet. I’ve been to a couple of sites and checkboxes, submit boxes and other form items just wouldn’t work in it. I load the same page in Firefox, no prob. Concerned about security and bugfixes? Seems like every day I have a new build of Firefox! Tried Opera before, didn’t like it. The mobile version of Opera is infinitely better than Blackberry’s built in browser on my Pearl 8110 phone, though.

firefox for me

waht about safari? that is, in my opinion, the best browser ever (at least for mac). :smiling_imp:  :exclamation:  etc.

i use firefox and it pretty much never crashes, it might be due to too many add ons, not having the latest version, or your hard drive needing a good defrag maybe.

i’m not running many addons on mine, if your interested they are:

utilities:
adblock
flashblock
noscript

usefull, but not essential:
ie tab
dictionary
cooliris
daily dilbert

I use Windows Explorer. Opera is my next choice. All I really need is something to load a page to view it. Anything more is beyond my needs.

heh, sort of like you can’t buy a cell phone these days without having the kitchen sink as a feature… and the phone part of most of them being marginal at best. IE is fine.

By the way your poll is missing the pudding option. :unamused:

i do love ad block, i developed a real dislike for those big flashing banner ads ie keeps showing you, you can eliminate anything you don’t want to see on firefox.

-there’s whole domains out there that do nothing but serve up big flashing ads that make your pages load slower & can quite safely never be allowed to contact your machine, without it being detrimental to your browsing.

it’s horses for courses though, with firefox being free it’s worth a look if you are interested, you can allways uninstall it if you don’t like it -something i do not believe you can do with ie
