I love the SES parts offerings but I hate* having to click through all the links on the Lynxmotion website to see them.
Before I go off and try to write a script to do it myself, has anyone created a “one page” SES parts listing that one can continuously scroll through? I’ve looked in what I thought were all the obvious places and didn’t see one. My bad if I missed it.
Regards,
Kent
*I admit it, I’m a hopeless throwback who loved printed catalogs!
i once inquired about a printed parts catalog but the website is the catalog.
im afraid you will have to just keep clicking. not sure what the problem is there.
i have also printed off the whole website and put it all plastic wallets in a folder. make your own catalog.
makes it easier when ordering over the phone. i use active robots here in the uk and there web site has two pages of listed SES.
Hey you’re not alone. I hate sitting at the computer reading for any length of time. I prefer printed material also, so that I can take it any where: on the couch, in bed, in the bathroom, etc…
As far as a full list with photos of the SES parts, one does not exist. You will have to choose the category, then scroll the list of each category. If you have a color printer, you could make your own catalog by printing out all the categories of the SES parts.
Jim,
can i request the latest price list to be sent to Active as there are a few item not available on the site. ie,
Part# SHBKR-BRU ]
Part# ASB-30# ]
Part# HUB-15 ]
Part# HUB-16 ]
to name a few.
i spoke with Maggy a while back about the mini chassis and she said she was waiting for the updated prices.?
thanks.
A printed catalog would be a nice addition. I have avoided it for so long because in the past the catalog was out of date before the ink was dry. I think we might could actually do it now that things are a little more settled.
As for the website categories, most people don’t want really long lists due to connection speed issues causing long load times. At least that’s what I thought anyway…
great news jim. it would be quite nice if you did print one up. i think it would make a nice archive for LM.
i agree about what you said about connection speeds etc. makes perfect sense.
Thanks for the responses. It’s nice to know I’m not alone.
Jonny, thanks for the pointer to the Active Robots site. What I was hinting at was creating a script to generate my equivalent to their listing, without doing the manual work implied in Mike’s answer (including deletion of the duplication that occurs because of the parts classification system).
Jim, I agree with the choices y’all made. Don’t change them just because of my odd-ball proclivities. (A friend once said he could have gotten rich by betting against all the choices I’ve made in my technological life! Hmmm, I think he was a friend…)
As you say, online pages should be short, informative, and ALWAYS up to date. What I’m going to do is mirror your site locally in a form I can browse or print as I choose.
Without a guarantee that distributing a printed catalog would increase sales, I can’t imagine you folks creating another cost center (been there, done that!).
