One ESC keeps beeping while all 3 other ESCs and motors work fine

Hi, I am working on a Quad X drone using a Quadrino Nano. When I start up the drone all ESCs initiate perfectly except one, which makes regular short beeps the entire time. I have tried connecting the signal wire from the Quadrino Nano to another ESC to check if the ESC is the problem, but the ESC I connected it to also made the same beep pattern, so I don’t think the ESC is the problem. I looked in the manual for the ESC and it says that this beep pattern indicates that “the throttle stick has not been moved to the bottom position.” I have tried recalibrating the ESC, but this didn’t fix the problem.
Here is a link to a video of the problem and a picture of the troubleshooting menu for the ESC: “https://photos.app.goo.gl/YRtHkpWckDomR2JY7
I would appreciate any advice on this issue.
Thank you.

Hi sdss,

It does indeed mean that the ESC do not see a valid low throttle value from it’s signal.

Have you already flashed your Quadrino Nano with the proper model using the Quadrino FCT ?

Which signal wire are you using to connect to your ESC’s ?

Wiki: Quadrino Nano Drone/UAV Flight Controller (with GPS)

Give us as much info as possible, how it’s connected to the power distribution board, to the Quadrino etc.

Hi, thank you for your quick reply.

The signal wire is connected through the PDB as motor D5 on the Quadrino Nano (the top-right ESC is the problematic one). I have already flashed the Quadrino Nano with the following settings:

Here is what is shown on WinGUI:

This is my first post, so I don’t know what information is needed, please let me know if you need more information and I hope you can help me.
Thank you.

I should add that the same problem occurs when I connect the ESC signal wire directly to the Quadrino Nano instead of throught the PDB.

Great, that remove the PDB from the equation.

What’s puzzling me is the fact that if you connect any ESC’s to that output it does the same.
This could mean that D5 is not outputing anything and/or is defective.

Just to rule out the simple stuff, can you verify the PIN inside the Quadrino connector ?
Sometimes the pins can be bent and not make contact.

Can you confirm that all 4 ESC’s are OK connected to D2 ?
Can you confirm that all 4 ESC’s are NOT WORKING on D5 ?

The pins inside the Quadrino connector all look good and I even tested the continuity between the port’s connection to the Quadrino board and the PDB, which showed that there is no break in the connection.

I can also confirm that all 4 ESCs are OK connected to D2, and none of them work when connected to D5.

As a side note, the ESCs connected to D5 and D2 are differeent to the ones connected to the other 2 motors, but the ones connected to D5 and D2 are brand new, so I don’t think it could be this.

Thanks for all the info, it really look like nothing come’s out of D5 for some reasons.
Can you try to flash another type of drone, let’s say TRI / Tricopter, and once done go back and flash a QUADX again ?

I flashed the Tricopter firmware and flashed the QUADX again, and D5 is still unfortunately not working.
