This robot was featured in an article in the Dec 2011 issue of Servo Magazine. Three motors drive omni wheels to give it unique motions. The video link shows the robot in action.
I am sure that when other I am sure that when other people who love robots are going to get a lot of great information about the omni wheels here. Using three wheels instead of two does sound like it offers much better movement.
Omni wheels seem to be better than any other type of wheel for robot building and what the new bill means is clearly demonstrated here in video.
