Old and outdated

Hi. I have the lynx 6 but i haven’t used it in the past two years. My new pc doesn’t have a serial port and never gave it much thought when i purchased it. I would like to start playing around again with the arm. I browsed a little bit at the new arms using the servo constructor set and still the board that comes with it is serial and the description says it’s verified to work with the I/OGear USB to serial cable. Where can i purchase this, why don’t you sell it.

Thanks,

Maybe because it wouldn’t help, most of the people that have difficulty would buy a generic off the boat one from somewhere else for half the price, and we would still wind up with 5 of these posts a week despite 100 nearly identical threads covering the topic? Ah well just a WAG on my part of course anyway. :unamused:

Save yourself the hassle and buy an FTDI based adapter, here is an inexpensive one for under $20 from Mouser.

Lynxmotion is a small company that makes unique products that for the most part don’t exist anywhere else. We don’t sell a lot of consumer electronics for a lot of reasons. We do what we do, the best that we can. Eddie is correct about the FTDI part. In fact I’m adding it to the serial port troubleshooting page. Thanks Eddie! 8)
