Oh your UAV has wifi? That's cute

Hey guys, been a long time since I’ve been on the forum! A while back (maybe >18mo) I bought myself a Lynxmotion hexapod kit which I had a great time working on and messing with, then I spent a whoooole lot of time hacking Mac firmware and stuff and didn’t get to play with robots at all. Today I dusted off old Deathbot, put together the base rotate and pan tilt assemblies I ordered ~12mo ago, and cable-tied a 2.4GHz yagi to the top.

Very much in progress at this stage (just kinda sitting together), but I present DEATHBOT 2.0: THE HACKENING.

The plan is to use the BeagleBoard (that’s been sitting in a box for 12mo) with an Alfa wireless adapter connected via USB, a copy of kismet, a USB GPS, and some shoddy direction-finding code I’m working on, and have this guy autonomously hunt down and destroy (hack) wireless networks. Completely legitimately, of course (I do computer security for a living). I expect the battery to last about 5 minutes, but it should be fun all the same

I like the antenna. Maybe it would fit on my RoboMagellan 'bot?

Haha quite possibly

Very cool.
