Well with the addition of the ACB-01 “aluinum chassis bracket” we will soon be offering an 8 appendage bot chassis.
I will be adding some weight reduction holes in the lexan panels. The real part will be black, I just used the tinted for the prototype.
I think realistically we will have them in stock after the new year.

OMG, this is soooooooooooooooooooooo wickedly AWESOME! I am ready to model the new bracket. I just finished the hub-13 and am working on the A4WD1 front panel now. You KNOW I want one of these…

That is going to spread like wildfire. It’s awesome.
Is it a chassis for an 8 legged biped platform?
It has EIGHT sides. It would be an octapod.

Hi!
What about a real spider name? Lynx spider.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynx_spider
Guess why I’m calling my octapod Oxyopus
LOL
Umm, a spider’s legs are still distributed bilaterally and not placed evenly spaced all the way around the body. What is gained by having a leg on the front and on the back. Is this going to be a crab walker?
For a spiderbot, there ought to be room in the front to attach two palps.

Ok, well it’s a round spider bot then. There isn’t a leg in the front and rear, the center PC board cutouts are rotated 22.5° to be centered.
How about Cyclosa - the trashline orbweaver spider?
No wait!
I like Araneus!!!
SN96:
Octobot 8)
This has already been used.

This doesn’t have to be used just for legged robots. It could be used for wheeled robots also.
I would love to model this in 3D after Jim finalizes the design and where all the holes are going to be.
I have an idea…

Hmmm, how bout a model number as a name?
OP8L - Octo Pod 8 Leg?
Could be an interesting rover if it used 8 omni wheels.
