hi
i need help. i was trying to get my bot hooked up with a bot board ii and a ps2 controler. i followed the instructions in the tutorial in ch4 hexapod.
things got mixed up so i tried to unhook every thing and start from scratch. but now for some reason it is no longer recognized by any of the software packages.
just what have i done and how do i get it back to working again???

I am only guessing here. But my first guess would be to check the jumpers on the SSC-32.
To have the SSC-32 talk to the PC, you need to make sure that the jumpers are in place to have the communications work properly. If the large 9 pin connector was lets say on the right hand side of the board. You need to make sure there are two jumpers are in the connect the RX and TX pins to the pins just above them. This is shown in the SSC-32 PDF manual on Page 3 in the photos after Big note 12, with the title over the picture: “DB9 enable for PC use”
Likewise you need to make sure that the Baud rate is set correctly, between the software and the PC. There are pictures in the same section of the manual. you will probably want to go back to 115.2k.
Also make sure you have power to all of the right places. If you are only using one battery, you need to make sure the jumpers are in place for connecting VS1 to VS2 as well as VS to VL. Pictures are in the same area.

rechecking the jumpers i relized i had them orientated the wrong way on tx,rx
all is working right now
so back to trying to get things working via the ps2
