We are currently building the old Hexapod 1 with IRPD component. We have successfully wired the switch correctly, but we are havign some issues with the servo inputs, and getting it to actually walk. When we power up the Basic Stamp program, we used the online code provided by the website, first the light sensors would flicker but nothing would happen and the robot does not move. After toggleing we again tried to upload the program and now it is saying No Basic Stamp found. Any suggestions on what to do would be helpful. Thanks!
If you’re on a battery, make sure it’s charged. Stamps won’t react properly if they don’t get enough power. Also, check cables, wiring, and that you’re on the correct serial port (especially if you’re using a seral-USB adapter.).
Normally, power is the main problem. Happens to me all the time.
I can tell you that I had the same experience. I used a 9v battery for my stamp board and even though the LED light on the board was lit (dimly) it did not work well at all. Once I replaced the battery it worked like a champ.
