Newbee needs help picking parts or kit

I’m working on a project and could use some suggestions on what kits/parts/ and or modifications I can make in order to achieve the following.

I need an r/c or wireless controlled vehicle that is

  • no more than 6.5in wide including the wheels, length can be longer
  • I need to have slow and smooth movement for smooth video (using this for inspection)
  • low profile, I do not want it to be climbing over stuff
  • be able to support around 20 lbs on top, I will be adding camera’s, lights, etc on top
  • not too heavy

Any suggestions to help get me started are appreciated.

We don’t seem to have any ready to use platforms which are <6.5" wide and capable of supporting ~20 pounds. We suggest a custom solution using the following:
4x 6V DC gear motors
4x hubs
4x Wheels
1x RC dual DC motor controller
1x 6V battery & charger
1x RC controller

You would need to make the base yourself (plastic, aluminum, wood etc).
