Hello Bdaouas, I am looking for some good resources in finding more about DIY camera surveillance systems for a vehicle. I thought you might know of a blog that is all about DIY camera system building. When I first started my hunt I found a YouTube video that used a Pixy2 camera. Searching for info on Pixy2 led me to this blog. I want to wire my van with cameras on all sides and use an old s7 Samsung cell phone, if possible, as the brain. I am an electrical engineer with old knowledge but I think I can get up to speed. Thanks for your help.
That sounds like a great project
Pixy2 is a vision sensor which can be teached to detect specific objects for robotics application. Depending on what you are planning to do with the videos taken by the cameras installed on your van, you might be interested in using a Raspberry Pi with Raspberry Pi Cameras. You can find thousands of tutorials online from which you can learn how to get a Raspberry Pi based camera system up and running. You can also take a look at the Arducam cameras. The Arducam Multi Camera Adapter Module might interest you.
Hope this helps
