New to Electronics

Hi All,

I'm Axel, I'm a biochemist who has decided to take up electronics and robotics.

I have been having a look around, it's nice to see there are friendly hands to help out. The 'Get Started' guide looks very helpful and practically I think I'll start there, however I have noticed (through my line of work also) electrical schematics, I am wondering if there are recommended books/sources which can help a beginner translate these diagrams, to a degree where it could be 'applied' to a power board.

Thank you.

Make: Electronics is pretty good for beginners.

Or if you want something free and online All About Circuits is supposed to be quite good too.

Great book

Getting Started in Electronics by Forrest M. Mims III

Is a great book for beginners, this particular book has had several names over the years but is still in print because it’s so easy to deal with. You can get it on amazon for 20 buck’s I think.

You should look at a schematic and look up any symbol the you don’t know. After a while, it will become a second language.
