New to all of this and lost with powerpod

This is my first robot and after reading all these threads i think i am losing my mind. I tried to understand everything but i’m getting into a problem with powerpod. I plugged everything in and the lights go off on the servo controller and the bot board, but when i press connect on the powerpod it doesn’t connect. This is probably an easy problem to fix but i don’t know how to fix it.
i’m on my laptop with a usb serial port converter.

Do you have both jumpers installed on the SSC-32’s baud rate config? Have you tried changing the com port settings? Have you used the serial port successfully with other applications? The fact that the LED goes out tells me you’re probably on the right port, but you may not be talking at the right baudrate.
