New T-Hex Promo Video

Here is a video I made on my break. I like it, but I forgot to show it doing translation or crab walking, and I didn’t include any single leg mode footage. :stuck_out_tongue: We got 8" of snow, and then 2" of rain, but I got lucky and was given a Christmas present. A day in the upper 50’s in December! So I got all the footage I could without going into the mud. I’ll make a better one when it warms up.

Looks great.

I am glad you had some fun!

Welcome back
Kurt

Yeah, it gets down to 50 here at night on the coast. Burr!

Still waiting for YouTube to download. Looks great!

I like the camo paint. Maybe the legs need a treatment too?

I really like the paint job on the chassis. That frame seems like it would be perfect for Mech Wars, both in function and in style.

Looks good!

Well done Jim and James!

(I did comment this video on YouTube yesterday  )

After watching the video first time I was thinking that you probably don’t have any snow ever
I loved the camouflage body shell, that made it look really cool! 8)

Yeah, I missed the single leg control too. But you got the Triple Tripod gait though…

Do you have any pictures too? (EDIT: Make T-Hex stand on a table or the floor this time, not on someones head… )

Hi Kåre!

Yes we get plenty of snow. :frowning:

The camo paint was done at my kitchen table with a small paint brush and the little glass bottles of model paint. hehe The garage is cold and I didn’t want to take the time to get the airbrush out. Plus the body was a test part, so I was just bored and painted it. I’m afraid of photographing it too closely. lol

The wire treatment was different though. I didn’t want to un-wire it to use the good expanding stuff. So I found something that worked without requiring re-wiring. I used flower tape! lol It comes in various shades of green, brown and black. I would have had to order the black, but the local hobby store had brown. It’s light weight, sticks to itself very well, and is very easy to apply and work with. It has the look of high temp exhaust coverings used on motorcycles etc. Well it was quick and easy anyway.

I will have some pictures up soon. 8)

Edit: I really like the Triple Tripod gait! I mean I’ve seen real bugs walk like that!

Great video, great camo paint job! 8)

While watching the video I was picturing a life size army of these things in the desert, marching closer and closer. :open_mouth:

Were foot sensors used with this tough guy?

Good job!

Hi Jim,

I placed a reaction on YouTube. Really cool!

I second the camouflage, it is really cool. So are you planning on sitting on the kitchen table with your paintbrush with every kit? Would be cool to see. :stuck_out_tongue:

Great job guys!

Xan

Cool Video!

I could definately imagine this alongside tanks on a battlefield with that camo, and some missile pods on its back .

Just a quick question. What sort of size is this beast, and how far do the legs extend? I can’t quite tell from the video.

This far! :open_mouth:

Or, about a foot to each side of the chassis, plus about 2" for the chassis… so, fully extended, around 26".

those black legs are starting to look better and better!

T-Hex is actually quite large!
