I purchased a new battery for my Roomba Discovery on Sept 4:
IRobot ROOMBA APS Battery (Advanced Power System)
Product Number : RB-Iro-07
In max mode it is only running for 1 hr and 20 minutes. I believe it should run for approx 2 hours in max mode. Can you tell me if I should be getting 2 hours with this new battery? Is it possible the one I have received is defective?

The run time of your robot depends on many aspects. It depends on the type of surface your robot is cleaning on and how many objects it must go around of. If your robot cleans some carpets and goes around a lot of furniture it will clean for a shorter period of time.
The cleaning time also depends on the robot itself. It is important to clean the brushes and the yellow brush bearings on the sides of the brushes properly. Overcurrent in the brush motor will cause the robot to clean for a shorter period of time also.
The APS battery also needs several charge and discharge cycles to clean at its full potential. It is possible that by using the robot for a few more cleaning cycles you will see a better run time.
If your robots battery runs for 1 hr and 20 minutes this indicates that your charger and robot are charging the battery fine. The battery also does not seem defective.
