I need some help, if possible, for a project I am doing.
basically I have a box, with 5 inch x 5 inch x 5 inch and weights 1 kg. at the center I have 2.75 inches diameter free space for a propulsion system.
Can you point me to any direction for choosing a motor + propeller or edf motor or turbine?
I just need to put the box “floating”
To confirm, you need this 5x5x5", 1Kg (2.2lb) box to float above the ground and have only a 2.75" sphere in which to place the propulsion system? If not, can you tell us a bit more about the project and application?
You might need to think “outside of the box” for this one.

it’s not a 2.75" sphere. its a tube with 5" long and 2.75" diameter placed at the center of the box. imagine a hole at the center of the box.

I want to have this box indoor floating to take some pictures.
Maybe I will add some other features later.

Really? No chance to do it? Not even with some lateral mini propellers to help stabilize?
I need it to be 2 to 3 meters high.

You could make it as a UAV (Helicopter / Drone) for sure but the propellers could not be hidden inside.
Hacking a Hubsan X4 Mini QuadCopter could work if there is enough trust to carry your cube. Make it hidden in the box and have holes for the propellers trust.
Of course, something custom build could also work but it would have to be a DIY project.
