I have received the prototype HS-85 micro servo brackets. I’ve built up some assemblies to make sure everything is good. I might need to lose the double 45° bends on the C brackets. I’m not able to get the full 45° range before the C bracket hits the servo bracket. Anyway here is a sneak peek of the parts. Looking for any feedback.
cute. very cute.
long awaited and well worth waiting for. nice work.
i like the look of the 45º’s but like you say they dont allow full range!
think i may have to get some…
COOL! 8)
any chance of a sneaky video of them in action? maybe a minihex?
Not enough samples to make a full hex. Will have to wait for production.
shame!
have you tested them with any other micro servos?
guess you will be making a list of the ones that fit.
…any clues on retail price?..
There apparently is no standard for micro servos. So I made them for the HS-85. The HS-81 will not fit. I’m not aware of any other servo that has the same size as the HS-85.
Those small brackets must feel like feather weight when held in your hand. Although the 45 deg angles look nice, I’d loose 'em for the reasons you mentioned. Its better to have full range. You could keep the angled design for special applications that might require the angle, but in limited quantities.
Yep, they are light. I already changed the design for single 90° bends. Looking forward to getting these in. It will add another level of dynamic range to the SES built robots. 8)
