New mega servo brackets make big legs

Here is a sneak peak of the new Mega Scale Servo Brackets. Disclaimer! I do not know how well this will operate. Just because I built up the leg, I am in no way guaranteeing this will work.

:open_mouth: That’s one BIG leg!

It would be nice if someone did a hexapod with servos like these ones. What torque do they offer at that size? (The ones taht can go with the SES for 1/4 scale servos).

Yes I know about that. But it was done with 805 servos and I’m using 755 servos. I don’t have any worries it would work if I went to the 5745 servos though.

Hey Evo, what was the length of the femur on your 805 equipped hexapod? The length of this one is 3.75". The standard sized servo one is 2.25". So the HS755 version is 1.50" longer. The 475 servo has 76oz in of torque. The 755 has 183oz in of torque.

So the leg is 3.75/2.25 = 166% larger.

The torque is 183/76 = 240% larger.

Logic tells me it should walk fine. It will be a little while before we can build a full size hex to test though.

The femur on mine was 4" center to center. The length seemed fine it was the 6" tibia that was too much for the HS-805. After shortening the tibias to 4.5" it worked much better.

I think a full hex out of those brackets will look killer.
