New Built Micro tank bot

Hello,

I’ve started on a new project, this time the intention is to build a tank to be controlled over internet using a raspberry pi2 to controll an arduino uno+l293d motor shield. Also got a Pi cam to be able to stream video.

The rpi 2 is connected to the arduino by usb/serial.

The shield motor L293d will be running two 130 size dc motors to move the tracks.

To power the rpi 2(will have also a Pi cam on a 2 micro servo pan tilt) + arduino + l293d I have a 3s 11,1v 1050mha lipo battery through an ubec(max 7.5A) providing a constant of 5v.

So my qestions are:

will the 11,1v lipo be suficient to power all this setup?

or can I add a second lipo battery(3s 11,1v 610mah) to be connected directly to the L293d motor shield using by this way a separate power suply for the motors?

thanks

Hi linkspyder,

You might want to take a look at THIS port on Let’s Make Robot where a similar system is used.

to know how long you can use your setup on the 1050mAh battery, you have to calculate the amount of current the setup draw.
This by calculating all the individual components or using a multi-meter.
