I need a kit to build this youtube.com/watch?v=_nJI1qH8sWU and have it controled useing a Spektrum DX7s with a AR8000 receiver. I am looking to buy today.

A robot like that requires two free channels for the base, and six free channels (at least) for the arm.
If you use a normal RC remote, you can only control each degree of freedom individually.
If this is what you want, you would need the components below:
Base:
1x robotshop.com/en/4wd1-robot- … m-kit.html
1x robotshop.com/en/sabertooth- … river.html
1x robotshop.com/en/bat-06-12-0 … -pack.html
1x robotshop.com/en/nimh-nicd-s … -1025.html
1x robotshop.com/en/lynxmotion- … =RB-Lyn-95
Arm:
1x robotshop.com/en/lynxmotion- … 4-dof.html
1x robotshop.com/en/lynxmotion- … -duty.html (three options)
1x robotshop.com/en/bat-05-6v-2 … ttery.html
1x robotshop.com/en/nimh-nicd-s … -1025.html
Control:
1x robotshop.com/en/hitec-auror … =RB-Hit-88
or
1x robotshop.com/en/aurora-9x-9 … RB-Hit-149
A Spektrum DX7 only has seven channels, so if you don’t purchase the wrist rotate upgrade, the base requires two channels and the arm requires five, which is enough.
Can I set it up to work with a PC over wifi?
Certainly, but we don’t have any specific kit to allow you to do that - it’ll require programming.
If you’re prepared to program it as well as the computer interface, we can suggest products.
Yes I can just need the hardware
what hardware can I add on top of this to run it off the pc over wifi when not using the ratio ?
Instead of an RC transmitter / receiver, you can use an SSC-32U with WiFi Bee:
robotshop.com/en/lynxmotion- … oller.html
robotshop.com/en/wifi-bee-v2.html
The other components remain the same.
Ok RC is not the way to go on this build. Can I run the PS3 controller and have it run over wifi what parts do I need?
The PS3 and WiFi are two completely different technologies.
You can use a PS2 with BotBoarduino (we offer some sample code), but it won’t have anything to do with WiFi control, and you’ll need to remain in range of the rover.
If that suits your needs, we can suggest some parts.
Can I make it work with this robotshop.com/en/xbee-shield-arduino.html this way I can use the PC over wifi when I need to and then swich over to the PS3 controller when I want to.
The XBee shield would then need a WiFi Bee, or you could simply opt for a WiFi shield.
You could then program it to switch over to a PS2 controller when you wanted.
Note that we have never tried this combination, and you will need to modify the code accordingly.
Yes thank you. Now can you tell me why this kit is out of stock robotshop.com/en/lynxmotion- … -4dof.html but It looks like all the parts are in stock?
The arm is theoretically in stock, it has just not been “kitted” (all products put together).
We just received the order for the Hitec servos, so the arms will be kitted shortly.
To control the arm, mounted on the A4WD1 via PS2 or WiFi, we’d suggest a BotBoarduino, SSC-32U, WiFi bee and Lynxmotion PS2v3.
The PS2 mounting plate is optional but strongly suggested:

So I want to place the order today can I use this robotshop.com/en/lynxmotion- … 4-dof.html seeing as the kit is not in stock?
It’s now in stock
The first link goes to RB-Lyn-291: robotshop.com/en/lynxmotion- … 4-dof.html
The second link goes to RB-Lyn-846: robotshop.com/en/lynxmotion- … -4dof.html
In any case, we now have the servos in stock, so we will be creating all arms which are not in stock in the next few days.
