Needing Arduino code for Arduino Motor Shield with a Joystick & 2 DC Motors

I am wanting to run 2 DC motors independent from one another with speed control on both motors off an Arduino with a motor shield. A joystick will control both motors. I appreciate any help I can get!

Have you already choose your DC motors, Arduino board, motor shield, etc. or you don’t have anything from these components?

I have already gotten everything I need (I think). I’ve got an Arduino Uno, Arduino Rev3 Motor Shield that fits on top the Uno, 2-12 volt DC motors, and a joystick.
