Need Motor help

Hello all, Im new here and looking for some advice on a project that Im working on. Unfortunatly its not a robot, its an art project…I hope you can accept me

I have made a paper carousel-like sculpture, it involves a motor which makes the “carousel deck” spin. I am not experienced with motors/electronics and am looking for some help! Currently the motor I’m using does not seem to be powerful enough to make the “deck” rotate. If I give it a push it will rotate but then randomly stop and need another push :frowning:

The motor I am using has no identifying marks/numbers on it(I took it out of a rotating display stand) it is 120v and 8-10rpm which is an ideal speed for my project.

Does anyone know where I could purchase a “stronger” motor that wouldn’t struggle to keep the sculpture moving?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

You should be able to find something on Ebay. You could also look for a cheap used cordless drill if you do not mind running it on DC. The cordless drill would be geared low enough to turn your project,

You can consider getting a proper 12V DC Geared Motor, pairing with a speed control motor driver
