I am trying to add a switch to turn on and off a 12v accessory. I have switch A added to channel 5. When I plug the switch into the receiver’s channel five, I cannot turn the high current switch on and off with switch A. If I toggle switch A on and off then the high current switch will go on and I have to toggle switch A on and off again to turn the high current switch off. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I have a flysky FS-I6X and a high current switch as in the photo I uploaded.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Without knowing more about your setup, here are some ideas:
- How are you powering the RC receiver?
- To confirm you have the 3-pin connector from the switch plugged into channel 5 on the receiver in the correct orientation (white to signal)?
- Can you check the datasheet of the switch to see if the 3-pin cable also PROVIDES 5V to the receiver (does it include a BEC)?
- Check the specs of the switch to know the lower and upper thresholds for activation in terms of pulse.
- Check the remote control’s settings to see what channel 5 is doing (inverted, restricted pulse or other?)
- When in doubt, verify it works on another channel.
