I’m new to this so let me tell you what I got
Johnny 5 kit with ssc-32, bb2 with atom pro 28 and a ps2 wireless controller
I’ve tested everything and it works with the SEQ.and I loaded the ps2 program with the IDE and the chart in terminal 1 had all the numbers it was supposed to and when I pushed buttons on controller the numbers would change in the different columns. But I just kept getting a solid green light on the ssc until I changed the tx and rx wires to pins 14 and 15 on the bb2 then the green light on ssc would blink like it was recieving commands from atom but I noticed when I did that the numbers in terminal 1 box changed to FF 255 or something like that, can you tell me anything!
Please slow down and give more information about your problem. The J5 is sold as a kit that is controlled by the PC running Sequencer. Have you been able to control it that way? Please write much more. Provide a lot more information.
Yes, I can control it from the sequencer, but I was hoping to control it from the ps2 remote. I installed the bb2 with an Atom pro 28
and also ran the IDE programmer with the ps2 program and that seemed to work also. I know this because when I opened terminal 1 box in programmer I had all the numbers flashing as described in the directions. I believe all wiring is done right between the ssc and bb2 but I do not get any communication signal on the ssc green light. I have the ps2 controller connected to pins 12,13.14,15 on the bb2, its powered by the positive and ground on pin 15,the ps2 receiver lights do respond to the controller. The tx from the ssc is connected to pin 8 on bb2 and the rx pin is connected to pin 9 on bb2. , the ground is connected to pin 8 on the bb2. I also have jumper install for pins 12 thru 15. Does the ssc and servos first have to be energized by the sequencer and then start to run the Atom in order for communication between the two to work?? Any help is greatly appreciated, the wife is looking to throw me and Johnny 5 out into the snow without boots!
You ran the IDE programmer with the PS2 program… What program are you using? It sounds like you are just running the PS2 controller test program. There is no code in it to actually send any data to the SSC-32. Please read over the SEQ manual, pay close attention to the Basic Atom export function. This will enable you to export the sequences you were running in SEQ to the Atom. Then the Atom sends the commands to the SSC-32 instead of the PC. However you will need to combine the two programs if you want to make the PS2 control running the sequences. We don’t have any example code for this. It must have been done by now, but no one has mentioned it on this forum as far as I know.
I thought that program for the ps2 was gonna let me control Johnny by the handheld controller, didn’t know it was a test program. Is there a program out there already for the ps2 that lets me control it directly with the ps2. Exactly how is the controller supposed to control the robot, Thanks
