Need Help with a "James Bond" Window Lift for a Houseboat - Actuator

Hi Folks,

Take a look at the attached pictures for an idea of what I am trying to do. Does anyone have any suggestions? They would be greatly appreciated.

We are looking for a solution to help us raise and lower a large window (13 foot wide x 4 ft high) inside and above a hollow pony wall.

  • The device needs to be able to compress into about 24" of height for when the window is lowered into the wall.

  • We can reduce the effective weight of the window significantly with remote weights attached to a pulley system in the ceiling.

Thank You!

We can special order 40" or 50" linear actuators which can move 200 pounds. One configuration looks similar to a hydraulic system, the other uses a traveller on a rail. If either of these are of interest, please contact us via the RobotShop Support Center and request a quote for whichever you want. We would need your tel#, full name and address to create an account.

RB-Fra-00 “FA-200-IP66-12-50” (50" tubular actuator)
RB-Fra-00 “FA-200-TR-24-50” (50" track actuator w/ wired hand controller)

For the 40" versions:
RB-Fra-00 “FA-200-IP66-12-40” (40" tubular actuator)
RB-Fra-00 “FA-200-TR-24-40” (40" track actuator w/ wired hand controller)

The limit switches are not adjustable out of the box. You might consider one on either side or just one towards the center. In either case, the counterweight will be needed.
