Hi there, I plan on making a obstacles avoidance robot by using the front steering motor from a RC truck I got at a store. So, I'm wondering how do I control the motor? its obvious that the RED wire is for the motor, but the remaining 4 wire I seriously got no idea how to connect it to a Arduino UNO and control the steering of the front wheels. When I open the motor up and study the mechanic, when the thing is at centre, it is touching C (blue) and D (green) only; and when I turn it to left from the centre ponit, it touches B (black) first then only A (white)while still remaining in contact with C and D. Then when i turn it to right from center point, it touches A first then only B. Can anyone please help to explain to a newbie like me, and also teach me how to connect to Arduino UNO Thanks.
The “range switch” type circuit here looks like its mostly just position feedback. You’ll still need an H-bridge to change the direction of the current. Do you have a picture of what the wires were connected to before they were removed from the vehicle? That might be helpful here.
I’m planning to control it using a L293D H-bridge for both the front and back motor. Unfortunatle i don’t have the picture from before because it was my friend who helped me dismantle the board and he had already thrown it away.
Thanks I had already seen it, but my friend already dismantle the motor and throw the circuit board away, so now i’m stuck at how to control using Arduino
You are confident about the red one. Could you make use of a multimeter to find out how the other wires respond when the shaft is turned one way and then the other?
