Trying to build my first robot. I’ve finished the base and am putting on the shoulder. After putting on the shoulder servo, instructions say to rotate base to extremes to see if servo wire restricts movement. The base seems to over rotate toward the left and barely rotates to the right. I’m thinking the base servo must not have been set at zero but honestly I’m not sure what is wrong.
It seems you secured the top part of the base rotate kit at the wrong location on the servo horn. You need to remove the shoulder servo, unscrew the screw holding hte top plastic place to the servo within the base rotate kit, then remove the top plastic plate, re-place it where you have found the “actual” center to be, and re-place it so the bracket aligns with this center. Re-test the range and repeat as needed. The other way around this would be to connect the servo to the SSC-32 servo controller (if that is what you have) and send a centered command. Tell us how it goes.
Thanks so much. FYI - I also sent a support ticket with the same question plus 2 more questions. (I wasn’t sure how best to ask a question:)
