I did robots a decade ago, and RC back in the single channel days, so all knowledge is useless. I am building a tank dual motor robot with two brushed 500W DC motors. Need cheap (budget) ESC for RC and later for Flight Controller use. Battery is 24V 8S LIPO. Cheap overrides quality–if it fails, it is just in my yard. Last time I did this 10 years ago I used Sabertooth 2x32, but I balk at the price tag now. My RC radio is the FrSKY Taranas QX7 and Receiver is FRSKY V8R7-II I would be willing to buy a different receiver if necessary to make this work. I can only find $10 2-3S LIPO Chinese ESCs or massive Sabertooth-style at $100+. Anyone help? PS: I may be bad at searches, but all the searches came up pretty old too…

Hi @SailorK and welcome to our forum.
Maybe you can have a look at drives from CC-SMART manufacturer:
These should have lower price compared to which functionalities they offer.
Thanks, I’ll look at that. BTW, can’t seem to be able to edit my post, but my battery is 8S LIFEPO4, NOT LIPO. so its really a nominal 24V system. I did find the Sabertooth 2x12, with current protection, so that is a little better.

The CC-Smart model -008 at $28 seems pretty good, but I’d really love a dual at less than $56; if they put two of them on one board at a good price, that would be the nuts IMO. The sabertooth 2x12 is at $65, so not a lot of price benefit from the CC-Smart -008.
