Need advice on pixaxe or arduino for a track base

i want to build a track base to later add on to but now for the movenent i could use advice on what type of board to use pixaxe or arduino ? i will take all advice im here to learn

arduino, if you buy a generic one off ebay they are cheaper and more expandable.  The language is cleaner and open source too.  Being C makes it far easier to move onto “normal” microcontrollers too since most of them are programmed in C, since BASIC is purely for beginners (Beginner’s All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code), and not used seriously.

just make sure the build your own comes preloaded with the bootlader if you don’t have a programmer,  I have never found the kit versions to be much cheaper though.  Also make sure you are buying one with USB if you don’t have a serial port on your computer.
