Hi
I have purchased several Parallax BoeBot Kits for Arduino from you which I am using with the Arduino Uno microprocessor and BOE Arduino Shield in a highschool class setting. I want to also use a .Net microprocessor with them so my students can also experience using the Visual Studio environment while programming them. What would you recommend as a microprocessor board? Would I need to replace the BOE Shield with something else as well ie. motor controller board? Would power requirements be different and need to be changed? Being able to extend the capabilities of the BoeBot Kit, and or using the .Net microprocessor in more advanced applications as well would be an advantage. Any recommendations would be welcome.
Thank you.

If you want to develop in .Net but keep the Arduino shield compatibility, your best options are the Netduino, Netduino Plus, and the GHI Panda. If you use these board, you should be able to keep your hardware and simply replace the Arduino Microcontrollers.
We are working on bringing the Netduino 2 board to our catalogue as well. They should be available in the coming weeks. As for compatibility, we do not think that the 4.2 version is required for VB as long as you are consistent with the versions you use.
