I need a wireless remote control robot that can flip a switch such as this youtube.com/watch?v=2A7vAbq_uIY and also push a button in. But it has to be able to flip the switch back as well.
I sit beside a huge air conditioner all day, turning it off and on. And I can’t really walk away all that much. If I had a remote control to flip the switches, that would be great! I work with different types of air conditioners depending on the job. So my idea was to basically duct tape the robot to the machine next to the buttons somehow and have my remote control with me.
Either a battery operated or plug in type of robot will do.
The “motor” used there is a servo. You can possibly add a microcontroller for timing (say, on for 1 hour, off for another hour). The issue with remotely controls is that when you move a joystick, the servo moves 90 degrees, but when you release it, it goes back to 0 degrees. You need a remote whose joysticks don’t automatically center (no spring return). These are usually higher-end, though sometimes you can remove the spring (by opening up the unit) from cheaper models. Note too that you are looking for an RC remote like RB-Hoh-01. The other option is to wire the servo back to a manual servo controller, provided the distance is <20 feet.
