I charge my vacuum as normal, but the vacuum life got shorter and shorter. I tried to use the “new batteries” entry a few times.
Now, after it is charged, it just comes off the charger, turns a little, and shuts down, saying it needs to be charged. That’s it.
I took the batteries to a battery world shop and they tested them. They were fully charged when I took them in… They ran them true some test cycles and said they were “95%” as good as new.
I tried un plugging the batteries for 10 minutes then put them back in, and set the clock… but they same thing…
I has the 3.1 software in it.
Is there anything I can do here, or send it in to you., It is under your full warranty…
Dennis
Hi Dennis, for how long do you have your current batteries in your robot? Have you replaced them since the purchase? Usually, the Neato batteries can last up between 1 to 2 years depending of the cleaning cycles duration and frequency. Please keep in the mind, the accessories such as brushes or batteries are not covered by the 5-year warranty. Please let us know how it goes.
The batteries are less than a year old. I have read things about how the vacuum has some sort of memory it uses to calculate how old the battery is, and allow enough time to return to the charger. If this is so, how to you clear this out? Beside the battery, what else could be wrong?
You can clear the battery robot’s memory by using the “new batteries” option in the support menu on your robot.
You can also update it, by following the instructions on Neato’s website. Have you purchased these batteries with us?
It does seems the problem you are experiencing is caused by the batteries. We do see this problem with customers when the batteries are starting to get old.
The capacity of the batteries are reducing over time, therefore the cleaning time diminish.
